Danville’s downtown area features a wide variety of shops and restaurants, as well as the Museum of the San Ramon Valley. The restored Southern Pacific Railroad Depot, originally built in 1891, houses this local history museum. Its permanent collection includes artifacts, drawings, and photographs documenting the region’s history from the prehistoric era to modern times. Volunteers provide guided tours of the historic downtown district, local cemeteries, and a one-room schoolhouse.

The Blackhawk Automotive Galleries is a must-see experience for car enthusiasts. The 70,000-square-foot facility hosts an ever-changing display of more than 90 autos, ranging from historic mint-condition vehicles to more exotic modern models.

Tao House, the home of playwright Eugene O'Neill, is located in the hills above Danville. The National Park Service offers tours of the property where O’Neill wrote his final plays.

Nothing like walking into the bathroom of your brand new house and finding this guy hiding behind the door. Northern Alligator Lizards aren't poisonous, but they can bite. Fortunately, this one didn't really want to move, but DH chased him out the front door with a folded newspaper. Afterwards, we plugged his suspected entranceway: the so-far unused dryer vent.
